2026-10-28 The Eternal Gospel That Does Not Wear Out

An eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth. Revelation 14:6 ESV

Many things wear out. Tools become dull. Bodies weaken. Even words can lose their force when repeated often enough. It is easy to assume that the Gospel might follow the same pattern—that it once spoke with clarity, but now feels distant or familiar to the point of losing its joy.

Scripture says otherwise. The Gospel is eternal. Not simply old, but belonging to God Himself, who never tires or weakens. Before the world was made, before sin entered into creation, God had already planned salvation in Christ. Redemption was not a response. It was His will from the beginning.

This eternal Gospel does not depend on the moment we are living in. The world changes. People look for new answers and new solutions, but the problem remains the same. Sin still accuses. Death still interrupts. The conscience still searches for peace.
The eternal Gospel continues to answer that need with the same message it has always spoken: that God has reconciled sinners to Himself through the death and resurrection of His Son. That truth does not weaken over time. It does not need to be updated. It remains.

History shows this clearly. The Gospel has been resisted, reshaped, and at times hidden. Yet it has not disappeared. Not because it was carefully preserved by people, but because the eternal God preserves His Word. For us, that is steady ground. The Gospel that sustained those before us is the same Gospel given to us. It does not wear out. It continues to give rest because God continues to be faithful.

Faithful God, keep us grounded in Your Gospel, and let it remain our comfort in every season. Amen.
