1. Read Genesis chapters five and ten. Genealogies are part of God’s Word, given for our instruction. Consider and discuss why God inspired these family trees, and what He intends for us to learn from them. What patterns do you notice and what do you think this indicates?
2. In the final chapters of Exodus, the LORD gave very specific details about the construction of the tabernacle and items connected to it. Read Exodus 39 and reflect on why these details have been preserved for us. What does God want us to learn from the inclusion of these verses and other similar verses in these books?
3. In Romans 15:4, the Apostle Paul writes: “For whatever things were written before
were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.” Contemplate and discuss what we can learn from each of the books of Moses. What hope do these books offer us today?
