From your knowledge of Bible history, make a list of “crosses” born by the earlier apostles. A number of them can be listed just from the life of the Apostle Paul (see, for example, 2 Corinthians 11:24-27 and Hebrews 11:35b-38).
Think back over your own life and recall some crosses that you have had to bear. Are there any sufferings or setbacks you have experienced because you follow Jesus?
What are some things that tempt you to push Jesus out of the number one position in your priorities?
List some specific examples from Jesus' life of how He followed God and fulfilled the Law in our place.
