In Lev 23:3 God confirms what He had stated in the 2nd Commandment: keep the Sabbath Day (or “Day of Rest”) holy! (i.e., Don’t work your job or do chores, focus rather on God’s Word.) The Jews of Jesus’ day re-interpreted this into not exerting energy.
1. Journal below as many circumstances as you can remember where the Jews accused Jesus of breaking the Sabbath, and how Jesus responded.
2. Read: Matthew 12:1-8 and John 5:1-17. Note how Jesus responded to those accusations in merciful love.
