1. Think about the people and things this world idolizes. Attitude, Power, Pride. Now think of the things that this world looks down upon. Meekness, humility. Compare this to Servant of the Lord in Isaiah 42. Jot down some characteristics of the Servant that you want to also embrace.
2. Take some time to think about the little things in life. We overlook the blessings of God in providing necessary things like food, clothing, water, shelter. I guess they aren’t so little, are they? Now think about how God revealed the greatest gift imaginable to a tiny people descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Write out a prayer of thanksgiving. List some of the daily provisions of this weekend or past week that you are grateful for.
3. Consider how people in this world define love. The ultimate love in this world is the love between two people or the willingness of some to die protecting others. Think about how people define beauty in our society. Now look again at Christ on the Cross. Look up Romans 5:6-10. Reflect on these verses.
