1.Read John 20:22-23. Think of opportunities when you might announce God’s forgiveness to someone who is sorry for sin and who has confessed faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins.
2. Read Matthew 26:28. The next time you attend the Lord’s Supper and hear the pastor speak the Words of Institution, make it personal and think that Jesus is speaking to you through the Pastor.
3. Read 2 Peter 3:3. Notice during the week the different ways that Jesus’ second coming is mocked. Then rejoice to know He’s coming for you.
4. Prepare for Christmas. How do you prepare for the celebration of the Savior’s birth? What are some ways that you can keep in mind the true ‘reason for the season’?
5. Open a hymnal to the Advent section and study some hymns. Pay special attention if you have Advent services to take note of the different ‘comings’ of Jesus in the hymns you sing. Let the tune remind you and help you keep spiritual focus!
