2024-10-11 Bearing Fruit to God

Christ In You

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5

We love to identify with things. Certain logos tell the world the brand of clothing we are wearing. We proudly wear our school colors and logos or names. May we even more proudly identify with our Savior. We can wear His logo. There are many beautiful tee shirts that have images and words that identify us as Christians and send a message to all who see us. That certainly is a good way to identify with Jesus for the world to see. But even more effectively is to let Christ be seen through your actions and words.

All this week we have been considering the wonderful truth that Christ lives in you. It gives us peace and joy. Christ works His desires in us. This connection is a two way street. We abide in Him and He in us. The result is we will bear much fruit. We cannot bear any fruit without Him, but when we remain connected to Him we will bear much fruit because “it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” It is Christ’s life, His power and His love that flows through us.
When you see a logo today, let it remind you to show the world that you identify with Jesus Christ. Let others see Him through your life and your lips today.

Lord, speak through my mouth today; let me see others through your eyes; live through me today so those with whom I come in contact will see You in me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
